The fast and rocky workouts of You Happy Face are moderately interesting -- some of Hedgehog's jerky stops, monotone vocals, and punky forms veer toward the better side of the hardcore scene -- but the album's dedication to straight-out rock tends to sacrifice any sense of depth or innovation.
