One of the many side projects of the prolific Elliott Sharp, the fiery avant-garde jazz and experimental rock outfit Boodlers also included bassist Fred Chalenor and drummer Henry Franzoni, two longtime Pacific Northwest musical innovators who have played together in such avant jazz-rock outfits as Caveman Shoestore and Faceditch. After issuing their debut LP on the Cavity Search label in 1995, the trio moved to Tim/Kerr Records for 1997's Counter Fit.
