Artist Biography by

Alternative pop band King Radio consists of singer/songwriter Frank Padellaro and whoever he takes along with him. Padellaro is a Massachusetts-based prep school alumnus (Philips Academy, Andover) who played bass with the alt country band the Scud Mountain Boys in the mid- '90s. His first album as King Radio, Mr. K Is Dead -- Go Home, was released on Tar Hut Records in 1998. He worked as a producer for such acts as the Pelicans and T.W. Walsh, returning with a seven-song King Radio EP, The Mission Orange, on Not Lame Records in 2002. In August 2004, SpiritHouse Records released the band's second full-length CD, Are You the Sick Passenger? as Padellaro launched a King Radio tour. For the live dates, the group consisted of Padellaro on vocals and acoustic guitar, David Trenholm on guitar, Ken Maiuri on keyboards, Paul Pelis on drums, David LeBeouf on keyboards, Robert Sherwood on keyboards, Chuck Ferreira on percussion, and Robert Cook on bass, with a four-piece string section. (On Are You the Sick Passenger?, Padellaro, Trenholm, Maiuri, and Pelis are credited as the group's members.)
