Starfish deserve a lot of credit for taking their artistry through the bounds of many different genres; Frustrated
ties together abstract ambience, deep, heavy rock, and the occasional
turn to pop with a seamless over-arching aesthetic that turns the record
into a sort of voyage. The band's primary influences, however, are
definitely on the heavy rock and metal side -- when Starfish
rock, they truly rock, and the fact that they're willing to texture
their composition with so many other approaches is truly admirable.
