Shams Biography by Greg Prato
A short-lived alternative group from the early '90s, New York City's the Shams were comprised of members Amy McMahon Rigby (guitar), Sue Garner (bass), and Amanda Uprichard (drums). The trio issued only a pair of releases -- a full-length debut, Quilt, and a three-track EP, Sedusa (both in 1994) -- before splitting up.
