The Minneapolis-based ska-punk unit the Siren Six! began their career under the name Stinkfish, issuing their debut ...Does It Again under that moniker in 1997. By the time of the record's release, the group had already rechristened themselves the Siren Six!, announcing their arrival with the release of The Voice With a Built-In Promise, also from 1996.

Thanks for this one which I've been cravin' and may or may not still be in my collection. Other good stuff at the time with less a Fishbone sound but more swing were Squirrel Nut Zippers first and the Cherry Poppin' Daddies. All great First Ave. dancin' music, ska, swing, zydeco or otherwise all bustin' out then.
