AllMusic Review by Nitsuh Abebe
The Red Carpet Parlay of the Decade
is a somewhat developmental record; it's drawling minimalism is unique,
emotive, and solidly composed, but doesn't come close to the more
focused and dramatic recordings on The Apologetic Sound,
the band's follow-up. Still, the sound of the band finding their voice
is a good one, and the fact that The Red Carpet... is more conventional
than its successors may make it more accessible to mainstream listeners.
