Bitch & Animal Biography by MacKenzie Wilson
The funky-folk duo Bitch & Animal came together in the late '90s. Bitch hails from Detroit and Animal was born and raised in Queens, NY and the two met after play rehearsal at a theater school in Chicago. For the next few years, Bitch & Animal honed their signature sexually-charged musical style; What's That Smell marked their debut in 1999. Ani DiFranco signed them to her Righteous Babe label that same year, and touring throughout North America and Europe followed. Eternally Hard marked Bitch & Animal's sophomore effort in 2001; two years later, the band's most cohesive and humorous material to date was captured on Sour Juice and Rhyme.
