Artist Biography
by Jason Ankeny
Following the demise of indie rock favorites Unrest during the winter of 1994, the group's singer/guitarist Mark Robinson and bassist Bridget Cross reunited later that year as one half of Air Miami, a quartet formed with bassist Lauren Feldsher and drummer Mike Fellows. Debuting in 1995 with "Pucker," a contribution to the 4AD label compilation All Virgos Are Mad, Air Miami
next surfaced with the lovely "Fight Song," a track which appeared on
Wakefield Vol. 1, a sampler issued on Robinson's TeenBeat label. After a
single, "Airplane Rider," both Feldsher and Fellows quit the group; recruiting drummer Gabriel Stout, Air Miami released their debut LP Me. Me. Me., followed by the EP Fuck You Tiger. Problems with 4AD hastened the group's demise, with Robinson soon resurfacing as a member of Flin Flon; a posthumous EP, World Cup Fever Remixes, followed in 1998.
