Artist Biography
Based in Miami, Florida, USA, Muse was formed by
Paul Isaac (vocals), Gerson (guitar), Ari (bass) and Brett Thorngren
(drums). Formed in 1992, they initially worked in isolation from the
local music scene, before establishing an audience with alternative
audiences via support slots to touring national bands. Their self-titled
debut album was released in May 1995, recorded live in the studio with
the final mix overseen by Thorngren’s father, Eric Thorngren, a
collaborator with Talking Heads, Squeeze and Eurythmics. Released on
Miami independent Velocity Records, the album attracted widespread
interest among America’s major record labels.
