Artist Biography by Mike DaRonco
With their combination of haunting melodies and dream pop undertones, Minema brought on their own twee sophistication to their native Madrid. Accompanied by their influences of Pulp, Saint Etienne, The Sugarcubes and The Field Mice, Siesta Records debuted Minema's first self-titled EP in 1995. Following its release, the band embarked on a European tour with their electric cocktail idols, Stereolab.
